GeoViSense Workshop
Workshop Preparation
Participants should prepare one single slide for a personal introduction of their research (60 seconds max., timed) and include a research question of their interest for the workshop theme. What can you contribute to the workshop theme, what do you wish to learn during this workshop? What types of knowledge and experiences can you contribute to the workshop? Do you wish to volunteer for note taking? Let us know! Notes will help us prepare concluding remarks during the workshop and an open report for everyone after the workshop.
Day 1 – Monday July 16th
8:45 – 9:00 Reception and distribution of name badges in front of room H38 (in building Y25)

This exercise will be divided into three parts with a coffee break in between parts 2 and 3. During the exercise, workshop attendees will be divided into groups of five or six people and asked to solve specific problems related to the design of geographic information displays (GIDs). Group exercise #1 will focus on the tradeoff between navigation efficiency and spatial knowledge acquisition for different GID designs.

During the exercise, workshop attendees will be divided into groups of five or six people and asked to solve specific problems related to the design of geographic information displays (GIDs). Group exercise #2 will focus on the relationship between studies in real and virtual environments and the best way to develop a research program that incorporates both.
15:45 – 16:15 Group presentations, votes for best presentation, and discussion for exercise #2
16:15 – 16:45 Coffee break
