Introduction to the workshop (45 minutes)

Group exercise #1

This exercise will be divided into three parts. During the exercise, workshop attendees will be divided into group of five or six people and asked to solve specific problems related to the design of geographic information displays (GIDs). Group exercise #1 will focus on the possibility of designing GIDs to facilitate spatial knowledge acquisition.

Coffee break (15 minutes)

Group presentations, votes for best presentation, and discussion for exercise #1 (30 minutes)

Lunch (2 hours)

Group exercise #2

This exercise will be divided into three parts. During the exercise, workshop attendees will be divided into group of five or six people and asked to solve specific problems related to the design of geographic information displays (GIDs). Group exercise #2 will focus on how to design GIDs to be responsive to a user’s physiological signals and stressful behavioral contexts.

Global discussion and concluding remarks for first day (45 minutes)

 

October 26th (9:00am – 12:30pm)

Summary of day 1 and introduction to day 2 (15 minutes)

Group exercise #3

This exercise will be divided into three parts. During the exercise, workshop attendees will be divided into group of five or six people and asked to solve specific problems related to the design of geographic information displays (GIDs). Group exercise #3 will focus on issues related to the personalization of GIDs, including recent technological advances and ethical data challenges.

Global discussion and conclusion of workshop (1 hour)
